Day of Giving to Feed the Need

Description

Youth in Our Community Need Our Help

Washoe County School District Nutrition Services is facing a crisis.

Due to the pandemic, the Nutrition Services department is incurring extra expenses around packaging, labor, and increased costs. Each year, Nutrition Services provides meal access to over 65,000 students. 90% of all breakfast and 79% of all lunch meals are served to students of economically disadvantaged families. Since COVID started, these needs have increased.

The Junior League of Reno has partnered with News 4, Fox 11, and Nevada Sports Net to embark on a one-day fundraising campaign to provide meals to students in need.

A Day of Giving to Feed the Need will take place on August 27th.

All day long, News 4, Fox 11, and Nevada Sports Net will be dedicated to educating our community and asking for donations to help feed our at-risk youth.
